ClipSave

Version 1.1.0 · 4 Nov 2026

Every file, and when you need it.

Most people need just one file from this page, and the download page picks it for you. Everything else is here for the curious.

You need one

The extension

The ClipSave button in your browser. Pick the one for your browser; the one marked For you matches the browser you're using now.

Installed for you

The helper

The small app that does the downloading. You don't download these by hand: the install command picks the right one for your computer, checks it and sets it up.

Not needed to use ClipSave

For stores and developers

Packages for store review and the source code. You can skip these.

Optional

Checksums

One file with the SHA-256 of everything above, to check a download.

Verify a download (optional)

Check before you install.

You don't need to do this for the helper: the installer checks it for you.

  1. 01

    Get the checksums

Save SHA256SUMS.txt in the same folder as the file you downloaded.

    SHA256SUMS.txt
  2. 02

    macOS, Linux

Run this in that folder. Every file you have should say OK.

    Terminal
    shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS.txt --ignore-missing
  3. 03

    Windows

Run this in that folder, then compare the hash with the file's line in SHA256SUMS.txt.

    PowerShell
    Get-FileHash .\ClipSave-1.1.0-chrome-unpacked.zip

Something doesn't match? Don't install it, and report it privately.

Later on

Update or remove.

Update

Run the install command again for the newest helper and yt-dlp; do this first if a site stops working. For the extension, download the new zip, replace the old folder's contents and click reload on ClipSave in the extensions page.

macOS, Linux · Terminal
curl -fsSL https://ext.clipsave.link/install.sh | sh
Windows · PowerShell
irm https://ext.clipsave.link/install.ps1 | iex

Remove

This removes the helper and unregisters it from your browsers. Then remove the extension from the extensions page. Your saved videos aren't touched.

macOS, Linux · Terminal
curl -fsSL https://ext.clipsave.link/install.sh | sh -s -- --uninstall
Windows · PowerShell
& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm https://ext.clipsave.link/install.ps1))) -Uninstall
